Alex Kuncz is a 16 year old junior at The Bishop’s School. He has been playing oboe since 4th grade studying under Sarah Skuster and Scott Paulson. He has played for the San Diego Youth Symphony and for The Bishop’s School Orchestra. In addition to oboe, Alex has sung in the choir since 6th grade and is studying under Carolyne DalMonte. He is a member of the Bishop’s Singers and was selected to sing in the California All-State and All-Regional choirs. Alex performed the part of Marius in his school’s production of Les Miserables.

Brett Garon is a junior who attends the Bishop’s School in La Jolla. Brett is sharpening his vocal technique with his vocal coach, Scott Gregory. Notably, he was Monsieur Thernardier in the Bishop’s production of Les Miserables in February 2019, a cowboy in the Ovation Theatre production of Crazy for You in 2018, and Dill in the Bishop’s production of To Kill a Mockingbird in 2016. He also has sung in the tenor section of the Bishop’s Singers choir since 2017, with his friends Alex Kuncz and Joelle Jeon.
Delilah Delgado is a junior at The Bishop’s School in La Jolla, California. She has been dancing at Bishop’s for over five years, and also attended the Malashock Dance summer intensive in 2018. Under the instruction of Bishop’s dance teacher Donna Cory as well as Malashock teachers, Delilah has delved into countless choregraphic and performance opportunities. She received the Bishop’s Award for Middle School Dance Excellence in 2017, and is beginning her second year as a member of the Bishop’s Performing Dance Group.
Fourteen year-old Dylan has been studying piano at the Colburn School since he was five years old; he is also studying acoustic and electric guitar. At the age of six, he performed with the Seranata Chamber Orchestra. He has been performing with the Dream Orchestra since 2013 at their annual ‘Young Stars of Tomorrow’ concert. Dylan is a recipient of the Colburn Scholarship Merit Award and was invited to play at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in 2016. Dylan is a member of the Kwon Gil Sung Music Institute and the Ambassador Outreach program sponsored by the Classic Alive Artists.
Guitarist & Pianist
Joelle Jeon is a junior at The Bishop’s School. She has received numerous awards from regional and international competitions including the State Final Winner from CAPMT Honors Competition in 2018. She performed at St. Petersburg, Russia and won the best performing soloist prize in 2018. Since 2009, she has been performing for the Concert to Benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). In addition, she was chosen to perform at the Heart of A Child Benefit Concert this year. She has been studying piano with Dr. Bendetsky since the age of five.
Shawn (Shuyang) Xie is a junior in Orange County School of the Arts in Santa Ana, California. Shawn was awarded 4th prize at the 2018 Los Angeles International Liszt Competition and was invited as a guest artists for the 2019 National Association of Music Merchants Convention. He performed with his trio Opus WX at the Isaac Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall this summer. Shawn currently studies under the tutelage of Ethan Dong at Opus119 School of Music in Irvine, California.
Sixteen year-old Ursula Hardianto is an eleventh grader at The Bishop’s School. She has been playing the piano since the age of six and made her first solo debut in Carnegie Hall at the age of nine. In addition to doing competitive piano, Ursula is a member of two non-profit organizations and has helped raised thousands of dollars through her piano performances. With the help of her friends, A Moment In Time is Ursula’s first organized benefit concert celebrating mental health through the joy of performing arts.
Vanessa Yang is a junior at the Bishop’s School in La Jolla, California. She is an experienced soloist and orchestral musician, having studied violin performance with Xuesong Wang from age six and performed in international orchestra festivals all over Asia from age eleven. This past summer, Vanessa played in the International Youth Symphony, San Diego Youth Symphony (SDYS) and Rotary District 5340’s annual summer intensive. Currently, she is a member of the SDYS Chamber and Symphony Orchestras, the Bishop’s School symphony orchestra, and her own chamber group.
Twelve year-old Winston started playing piano at the age of five and has also been learning guitar at the Colburn School. He has been performing with the Dream Orchestra since 2013 at their annual ‘Young Stars of Tomorrow’ concert. Winston was awarded the Colburn Scholarship Merit Award and was invited to play at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in 2016. Recently, he was chosen to perform at the highly selective Colburn Winter Honor recital. In addition, he is a member of the Kwon Gil Sung Music Institute and the Ambassador Outreach program sponsored by the Classic Alive Artists.
